This has hapenned to me several times now. I have just seen a photograph in a book that is credited to me. I have never seen it before, and I certainly did not take it. The mix-up probably ocurred because I did give permission for some of my photographs to be used in the book, but certainly not that one. So - what happens if the copyright holder complains to the publisher or author (I have no connection with either of them, although I was happy to let them use some of my images free of charge!).

Hi Lumberjack,

You should be fine because obviously you aren't responsible for the false attribution. In fact you have the moral right to object to being falsely credited as the author of a work you did not create.

OK thanks. I will probably just mention it to them and let them deal with it however they want. In the past, nothing came of it. Last time it hapenned, I knew I didn't take the picture because I was in the picture, aboard a ship that had just left the quay on a long voyage, and it was taken from the shore! Laughing
