duration of copyright

What is the duration of copyright in a french broadcast pre-1957? Any idea?

Is the duration of copyright for all categories of work the same in the EU?

Any advice or links to information on the above 2 questions would be appreciated

Thanks,
Lis

Use of quotations

Can I copy a quotation from a website and then give it out in handouts to the people? Would this be considered as making multiple copies?
