Hi I'm directing a music video for a band. However the song is a cover version, so naturally the band should get permission. For educational purposes I believe fair use covers you. At college a lot of my work used copyrighted material (such as music, songs etc) and there were never any problems.

Problems only tend to arise when you try to use something like that commercially, ie to make money.
