[quote="AndyJ"]Hi Anna, If you commissioned the translator to do the translation for the specific purpose that you would be publishing the work, I don't think there is much doubt that you would have an implied licence to publish the work he supplied, unless the contract/agreement under which he was ...

literary translation copyright

Hi all, There's a book and its copyright is owned by us. We found some freelance translators to translate this book into another language. The situation is that one of the translators signed the contract with us, but refused to claim the release of copyright to his employer (our company). Due to the...

Hi Andy,

Thank you.

I was unclear about the situation of publication after death and worried about using paintings under such protection.

Is there any way to check the information about this kind of paintings?

Freedom of panorama about nonbuilding structures

Do nonbuilding structures, e.g. street signs, bridges, railway, walkways, etc. enjoy copyright protection? I know they do not have copyright in the US. What about other countries? Can I shoot them freely?

Freedom of Panorama in America

I'm wondering if I can shoot video footage of America's architectural works in public places and publish the clips online none-commercially. American copyright law:17 USC 120(a) ( http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#120). The definition of "Pictorial Representations" is unclear to me. Is s...

Hi Andy, Thank you again for the advice and guidance. I'm so grateful for your help. This field is alien to me. Hi Andy,

If I bought a footage that includes the architecture or art work of a country that neither have FOP nor accept incidental inclusion, and incorporate the footage into a video published on online, will there be bad results?
