Can i take a piece of law, as published by a goverment, and re-publish that on a website ?

Or am i infringing that goverments copyright (if it has any) ?

Hang on, for the UK i found this:
"open-government-licence"

I found the reference at the bottom of the uk gambling act 2005 publication.

(sorry can't post links yet, google is your best friend)

which basically implies that...
yes there is copyright ownership by the goverment
however you can freely use the information providing appropriate reference to the original is made.
