How Long Before Can Send PM?

Hi.

I have recently registered at your forums and started a thread on Aug 27th. I have only made three posts thus far, therefore, when I attempted to send a PM, I got the following message.

'To protect our users from spam messages, private messaging is not available for new users.
Private messaging will be enable after a few days if you make a legitimate post to the forum.'

I was just wondering how long it would normally be before I would be able to send a PM.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

The forum config does not have a separate section for PMs on this, so I think the rule applied is the same as for URL posting, which is:

Must be a member for over 5 days and have at least 2 posts published on the forum.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but if you could see the amount of spam we have to block you would understand why these measures are necessary.

by "2 posts" does that mean two posts in the same thread or at least 2 new thread/topic posts, as i still cant seem to PM friends, with mail just sitting in the 'outbox' folder and never getting to the 'Sent' folder
help!
