Hello everyone,
I put together a podcast and am always very careful to ensure that copyrighted material does not make it onto our programme, however I have hit a grey area.
The other day, one of our members sang one line from a song and it was discussed during the programme. Also, another member quoted lyrics from a different song, which were also discussed.
Now, I'm not sure whether to keep those in the edit or whether to take them out. Are they fair use?
Many thanks,
Dan
Quoting songs in a podcast
I believe that this would be classified as 'incidental inclusion' and therefore be allowed under fair dealling rules.
