Satire publication

Post by Edward2121 » Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:08 pm

Hi Guys, hope you can help

I'm producing a satire newspaper for my local area and I will distribute about 2000 copies each month. I should make a small profit from charging local businesses to advertise in each issue.

Three things I was hoping for help with:

1. Can I use images without permission as long as it's for satirical purposes?

2. If not, how do I get permission to use an image of a celebrity for example and how much should I expect to pay?

3. Would I have to pay more for a high-resolution image suitable for print?

Kind regards, thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help

:D

You would need to speak to the photographer for permission to use his/her work. I cannot say how much he/she would charge - I guess that would depend on the picture.
